One of Australia’s fastest growing animal parks, Symbio Wildlife Park just north of Wollongong, is preparing to welcome two rare Sumatran tigers to its exciting collection of animals and birds.
A pair of two-year-old cubs are due to take up temporary residence at the 6.4 hectare park in mid 2010, thanks in part to a $100,000 TQUAL grant made available under a Federal Government strategy to stimulate tourism growth.

Symbio Wildlife Park has entered into a business partnership with the Illawarra Credit Union that will see the construction of a new exhibit at the Park. Symbio will welcome two ENDANGERED Red Pandas in the spring and Symbio Managing Director, John Radnidge said construction is about to begin on their new home, which will display the Red Pandas’ naturalistic environment.

Zoos across Australia and New Zealand have launched a campaign seeking one million supporters to help rescue 7,000 bears and put an end to bear bile farming in China.
Members of the Australasian Regional Association of Zoological Parks and Aquaria (ARAZPA) are hoping to gather support from the 14 million people who pass through their gates each year to encourage the Chinese Government to end bear bile farming.
